LAD MUSICIAN Announces Grunge Inspired 2017 Fall/Winter Collection

Japanese rock-inspired fashion label, LAD MUSICIAN, has announced its fall/winter 2017 collection. Some pieces are inspired by loose-fitting early ’90s grunge, utilizing dark plaid designs and bright, offsetting tones. Other pieces are influenced by urban streetwear with slimmer silhouettes and darker palettes. Founder and designer Yuichi Koroda’s collections are always fixated on intersecting music with fashion, and his take on Nirvana’s aesthetic definitely reflects the era of grunge.

Watch The Weeknd Bring out A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti, and French Montana in Brooklyn

Last night at The Weeknd‘s Starboy: The Legend of the Fall show in Brooklyn, the artist brought out guests A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti, and French Montana during his performance.

Carti and Rocky performed “Magnolia,” for which the two just finished filming the music video a short while ago. Rocky also preformed “Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2 (LPFJ2)”, and Montana preformed “Unforgettable,” having preformed the same song earlier that day in Niagara Falls for the morning show Live With Kelly & Ryan.

This continues the trend of Weeknd bringing out guest artists on his tour, surprising folks with a Drake appearance during his Toronto show.

Following collaborations with Mondo-kun and Hello Kitty, Japanese brand .efiLevol continues to celebrate its 10-year anniversary with another collaborative collection. Its latest drop pays homage to famed photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. During the ’70s and ’80s, Mapplethorpe pushed the boundaries with a series of provocative monochromatic images — deemed controversial at the time due to their erotic nature. With permission from Mapplethorpe’s foundation, .efiLevol has produced a collection comprised of a T-shirt, coach jacket, long sleeve shirt and a tote bag, each featuring a boldly printed Mapplethorpe photograph. The collection will be available at a price range between ¥14,000 JPY to ¥25,000 JPY (approximately $128 USD to $228 USD) at .efiLevol and select retailers beginning June 9.
